NanoLockin has won the Prix à l’innovation du canton de Fribourg 18-19 in the start-up category! At the grand final held on November 7 at Forum Fribourg , NanoLockin beat two other candidates thanks to its nanoparticle detection technology.
A spin-off from theInstitut Adolphe Merkle, NanoLockin has developed an instrument capable of “waking up” nanoparticles present in a sample and precisely observing their behavior using an infrared camera. Do nanoparticles adhere to the sample or move freely? This is a crucial question, particularly for the textile and cosmetics industries, which use nanoparticles in their products. Nanoparticles with unpredictable behavior could potentially endanger the health of customers. The ease of use (“plug and play”) and effectiveness of the instrument developed by NanoLockin convinced the jury and audience of the Innovation Award. The start-up was awarded a cheque for 30,000 francs to support its development.
Congratulations to the NanoLockin team, whom we’ve had the pleasure of supporting since March 2018!
