LYSR: precise, real-time machine monitoring
LYSR, an AI pioneer in the machinery industry. Since its birth at iCoSys (Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Complex Systems), LYSR has specialised in integrating artificial intelligence (AI) for the proactive monitoring of industrial equipment.
Proactive monitoring of industrial equipment
Origins and development of LYSR
LYSR was born from precisely identifying industrial needs for AI in monitoring and predictive maintenance, and from the observation that many companies in the sector have problems to solve. It was therefore not just a matter of creating an AI, but also of putting it into production and monitoring it afterwards. The initiative started at the iCoSys institute, was supported as part of a SwissUniversities project and quickly led to the creation of a spin-off from the institute. The spin-off focused on processing time series from machine sensors, which are essential for real-time monitoring of industrial equipment. This specialisation enables greater precision in predicting breakdowns and optimising maintenance, making it easier to manage production infrastructure.
Deployment challenges and innovative solutions
One of LYSR's main challenges was developing the technologies needed to deploy AI solutions at scale in complex industrial environments. The spin-off therefore developed mixed cloud and edge technologies enabling automatic, efficient scaling, ensuring smooth integration while limiting manual intervention.
Identifying markets and growth strategy
LYSR benefited from Fri Up's help in refining its market strategy. The “no-code” platform offered by LYSR therefore mainly targets industrial machinery manufacturers and automation integrators, who can integrate the solution easily and scale it up. This segmentation has paved the way for future expansion, both in Switzerland and internationally. Under Fri Up's guidance, LYSR has also developed a viable product, backed by in-depth analysis of market needs. This approach now makes it possible to offer convincing demonstrations to potential customers, optimising the chances of commercial success.
