Launch & run my business

Getting your launch communication right: questions to ask before taking action

Name, logo, website, social media: where do you start with your launch communication? Before producing anything, four strategic questions should guide your choices.

The four preliminary questions

Your launch communication depends on several factors:

  1. Who will I sell my products / services to?
  2. What are the main things that set me apart from the competition?
  3. What are my qualitative and quantitative objectives in the short and medium term?
  4. What is my communication budget for making myself known?

From diagnosis to action plan

The answers to these questions should guide your first communication actions and define your action plan:

  • defining your name, logo and visual identity,
  • creating your website,
  • organising your social media activities,
  • planning your prospecting and networking activities,
  • launching your first newsletters, etc.

The classic mistake is to start with the tools (the logo, the website) before the strategy (the target audience, positioning, objectives, budget). By doing things in the right order, every franc invested in your communication works towards your objectives.
