Vertical farms, natural macaroons and an online motorcycle rental portal – these are the projects of the three start-ups that joined our support program on April1, 2020.
Swiss Eco Farms: This start-up from Grindheim specializes in the creation of vertical farms. In high-tech containers, its team can grow plants and vegetables all year round on several floors, achieving yields up to 30 times greater than a traditional farm with the same floor space. Added to this are other advantages, such as greatly reduced water and fertilizer requirements, while avoiding the use of pesticides. The aim of Swiss Eco Farms is to offer an eco-responsible alternative to importing agricultural produce.
Maison Amarella: Top-of-the-range macaroons with flavors from different parts of the world and respect for nature – that’s what Maison Amarella offers. In her workshop on the AgriCo site in St-Aubin, founder Alia Adi relies on natural Swiss ingredients, gluten-free options and robust, eco-friendly packaging to bring a new flavor to the macaroon market.
Cruizador: behind this name lies Switzerland’s first online motorcycle and scooter rental portal. Launched by entrepreneur and motorcycle enthusiast Adrien von der Weid, Cruizador enables interested parties to compare the two-wheeled offerings of dealers and private owners in just a few clicks. Full comprehensive insurance is included with every rental. Simple and effective, this new portal aims to promote the rental of motorcycles and scooters in Switzerland, particularly electric models, which are still not widely available.
