Industry and artificial intelligence
LYSR, a pioneer of AI in the machine industry. Since its birth within iCoSys (
Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Complex Systems), LYSR has specialized in the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) for the
proactive monitoring of industrial equipment.
Origin and development of LYSR
LYSR was born out of the precise identification
of industrial needs in terms of AI
for monitoring and predictive maintenance
, and the realization that many
companies in the sector had problems to solve. So it wasn’t just a question
of creating AI, but
also of putting it into production and
monitoring it afterwards. This initiative
began within the iCoSys institute, was
supported as part of a
SwissUniversities project and rapidly led
to the creation of a spin-off from the institute. The latter is dedicated to the processing of time series from
machine sensors, essential for
real-time monitoring of industrial equipment. This specialization
enables greater accuracy in predicting breakdowns and optimizing
maintenance, thus facilitating the management
of production infrastructures.
Deployment challenges and innovative solutions
One of the main challenges for LYSR has been
to develop the technologies that
enable large-scale deployment
of AI solutions in complex industrial environments. The
spin-off has therefore developed mixed
cloud and Edge technologies enabling automatic and efficient
scaling, ensuring
smooth integration while limiting
manual interventions.
Market identification and growth strategy
LYSR benefited from Fri Up’s help to
refine its market strategy. The “no-code” platform offered by LYSR targets
mainly producers of
industrial machines and integrators
of PLCs who can integrate the solution easily and scale it up.
This segmentation has paved the way
for future expansion, both
in Switzerland and internationally. Under Fri Up’s governance, LYSR has also
developed a viable product, supported
by an in-depth analysis of market needs
. Today, this approach enables us to offer
convincing demonstrations to potential customers, optimizing the chances of commercial success.
