The Food & Nutrition Cluster is a regional and national networking and facilitation platform. Its mission is to strengthen collaboration between the various players in the agri-food ecosystem, and to support them in their innovation initiatives by combining knowledge of food processing with that of nutrition, health and emerging technologies, in a sustainable way and according to the principles of the circular economy.

The Food Centre is an academic and interdisciplinary platform for food science at the University of Fribourg, focusing on the sustainable use of raw materials in agriculture, research into new foodstuffs and sustainable food production, the role of the consumer, and the interactions of food and nutrition with mental and physical health.

Prototype development
The Halle Technologique de Grangeneuve offers pilot equipment and laboratories for simulating the main unit operations in the dairy and agri-food industries, in order to evaluate and validate technological choices in the face of legislative, normative and quality constraints and requirements in the agri-food sector. The hall is equipped with all the utilities required for operation (drinking water, demineralized water, chilled water, steam, electricity, etc.).

Agrico
The site, dedicated to agri-food and biomass, offers in addition to the campus 100 hectares of agricultural land for large-scale trials. Several start-ups are based on the site, including Cormo, Alver, PlasmaSeed and Lowimpact Food.
Fribourg Agri&Food
As part of our Prototyping & Agricultural Testing service, our experts accompany the development of a recipe, validate the technical feasibility of your product and discuss with you the challenges involved in creating a formulation, a prototype or an HACCP approach.
The equipment at the Grangeneuve Agricultural Institute's Technology Hall enables trials to be carried out in a wide range of product categories. Fribourg Agri&Food also provides access to analysis laboratories.
